The projects for which the financing contracts were signed were selected following the evaluation process related to Call no.1 "Restoration of wetlands and peatlands" and Call 3 SGS-1 "Development of mitigation and adaptation plans in municipalities".
The promoters of the projects for the Ecosystems and Biodiversity Field are the Institute of Biology Bucharest, Babes-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca and the Research and Development Institute for Hunting and Mountain Resources , Miercurea Ciuc.For the Climate Change Mitigation Domain, the promoters are Prahova County Council, Sibiu County Council, Alba-Iulia City Hall, Campulung City Hall, Bistrita City Hall, Drobeta TUrnu Severin City Hall, Miercurea Ciuc City Hall.
The results of the projects will lead to the reduction or prevention of the release of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere, but also to an integrated economy of climate change in the area of the territorial administrative units that have been selected.
The total value of the projects is over 19 million lei (over 3.8 million euro).
