The Museum of Transylvanian Life

The project was financed under the Programme RO12 – “Conservation and revitalization of cultural and natural heritage”

“The Museum of Transylvanian Life” had as immediate result the restoration and conservation of the Kálnoky Castle in Micloșoara (Covasna county). Another important component of the project referred to the increase of the life quality of the inhabitants in the Baraolt micro-region, through concrete strengthening and diversification of the professional abilities of 40 local inhabitants, development and diversification of local economy, as well as improvement of the situation of the Roma population in the Baraolt micro-region. The project also represented an excellent opportunity to consolidate cultural, touristic and educational ties with Norway, by developing exchange of experience and promoting best practices models, based on the partnership with INTBAU Scandinavia, member of a prestigious European network in the field of the European cultural heritage.

The project will generate a serious alternative to the cultural and touristic offer of the region and is complementary to the local development strategies in the “Centre” region, with direct benefits related to increasing the attractiveness of the micro-region and to improving its social and economic context.

The project entitled “The Museum of Transylvanian Life” was financed under the Programme RO12 – “Conservation and revitalization of cultural and natural heritage”, EEA and Norwegian Grants 2009-2014. For more information, see fonduri-patrimoniu.ro and muzeulvietiitransilvanene.ro.
