Botoșani – an example of good practice!

With a sum of over 9.7 million RON provided by the EEA Grants under the RO Environment Programme, the Municipality of Botoșani has closed the temporary waste storage facility located in the southeastern part of Botoșani, about 100 meters from the national road DN 29D Botoșani – Trușești – Ștefănești.

The removal of 90,000 tons of waste deposited between 2012 and 2016 benefited the 110,000 residents of the city, including those in neighboring localities.
Through the use of drainage geocomposites – an eco-friendly material that does not pollute and is 100% recyclable.

Thus, with 100% funding for the project (no local budget contribution), the partnership between UAT Botoșani and INCDPM Bucharest ensured a positive social impact by improving the health and well-being of the community and eliminating negative environmental effects.
